iPod touch 6th gen iPod and lapel mic???

Hello,

I'm trying to make my 6th gen iPod touch with a standard 1/8th lapel mic. The mic works fine on other recorders, but the iPod doesn't recognize it (either in voice memos or the camera app).

Is there anything I can do?

You’ll need an interface to convert the connector to TRRS and get the correct power to the right leads. Which one will depend on the mic And whether or not you need to monitor te input.

You can also buy a lapel mic made for the job like this one:

Yep.

I have a couple of them, the Zoom iQ7 and the Shure MV88. Both work great.
