7-9 weeks delivery date for 14"?

I am correct or did I read it wrong that 14" won't ship before 7-9 weeks? I have a friend going to NY and wanted him to get one for me but on the Apple Store there seem to be no availability, did i get it right?

June 24th to July 11th delivery date for me, I'm in Canada. If you need one and can't wait try Amazon.

You can find base spec models or high spec models quite easily. I would also check the Apple refurb store and bhphotovideo.com, as both have stock coming in on a regular basis.

If you are simply after the standard configurations (512GB/1TB storage without any upgrades which would otherwise make it a CTO) your friend could also pick one up from Microcenter or Best Buy or get it delivered to their residence within two days just fine.
 
Buy it from resellers. They have plenty of stock. I guess people prefer buying from Apple directly.
 
My friend prefers to order online and have it delivered to his temporary address in NY, Apple has one refurb, BH has some in stock, that was a great suggestion.

I was looking to order my daughter one for her college graduation, and the dates I was getting were similar from Apple. I’m looking at resellers now as others have suggested.

In my city Apple doesn’t even have stock of the standard configs - their ship dates are all in late June. I managed to snag literally the last 1TB 14” in town from a reseller this weekend - it was the last one they had and nobody else had any in stock locally. The supply chain issues are pretty dire.
 
At least 7-9 weeks now in Beijing both MBP14 and MBP16 with base configurations. Zeros for all Local on site pickups.
The supply chain is not recovered.
