Population control will be in our near future.. This planet is getting closer and closer to having no resources left.

If only we could go back in time and start over..

Actually some people believe that we will soon reverse this trend. The rate of population growth is slowing and may soon level out and reverse. Then, we'll have too many older people and not enough young people to take care of them.

Assuming that you are correct - I'm looking for volunteer young people to sign up now to take care of me when the drooling and incontinence gets bad. :p

Volunteers...??:D

I actually did quite a bit of research on this a year or two ago for a class I was taking. At that time, the U.S. was the only developed country with a fertility rate over 2 (largely due to Hispanic immigrants having a larger number of children).

With the continued growth of women's rights and sex education in developing nations, many experts expect the population to level off around 2050. Of course, we could easily add another billion to the world by then.

i wonder how long until there is not enough room for all of us?

With genetic engineering taking off and research in diseases. I wouldn't be surprised if, well before we reach this point, someone accidentally or purposefully unleashes a disease to wipe out a vast majority of the worlds population. Third world countries being the most heavily hit given the lack of medicine and access to good hygiene.

Today we hit the 7 billion people mark. Too much, not enough, or just right? Discuss.

These is talk that this number is already out by some 15 million. A guesstimate, at best.

Sorry. No kids for me, though. ...I wonder who will take care of me at an old age. Perhaps my young hooker girlfriends.

Realized that when Apples market cap was 390B a few weeks ago with the help of their investors, they had enough money to give everyone on the planet $55 a piece.
