7 PLUS Camera Improvement with iOS 11

What does this mean? I thought that the telephoto lens does NOT have OIS. The wide angle lens has OIS.
Anyone have any idea? I get that image quality will improve with IOS 11 but OIS???

If I were to hazard a guess, the portrait mode doesn't rely exclusively on the telephoto lens. It incorporates data from the wide angle (OIS) lens as well. Perhaps, in previous operations yielding the portrait effect, i.e. in ios10, OIS is not utilised when a portrait is being taken? I'm guessing here, but I'm basing this on what's known to us

Well the current Portrait does use both lenses data. Go to Portrait and cover the wide angle lens and you see interference on screen.

I'm guessing that they are using OIS in the wide angle lens and EIS in the telephoto lens.

That still looks rather noisy but I think it is improved a little bit.

It seems like HDR mode on Portrait is able to decrease noise quite a bit!

Can't wait for PUBLIC beta to come out so that i can play with it instead of relying on these types of articles!

I have noticed that when I record video using telephoto lens especially 6x zoom.. on real-time on the iPhone screen it really is jittery.. so no ois for sure.. but post process when you view the video, it is really stable! So I believe it has eis like how it is implemented on the Google pixel.. I dont recall it using eis before iOS 11.

OIS is a mechanical thing and if the camera/lens isn’t equipped with it from the start then it software can’t produce it.

my 6 plus camera shoot alot better than ios 10 after upgrde
to ios 11

I think apple doesnt create any new idea on iphone even iphone 8 or x
it just a new brain improve performance with ios 11
