Does anyone remember how long it took for the iPhone 7+ to sell out of the launch day shipment timeframe? In particular the Jet Black.

There is no really 'Selling out'. There Is back ordering, which was approximately 2 to 4 weeks with that specific model at launch. And there were no Jet black models available in my area at all with any carriers or Apple stores.

That’s what I was trying to ask, how long did it take for the phones to go from release day delivery to being back ordered, not in store, online.

I bought a jet black iPhone 7+ last year from Apple (bought Outright) got my email confirmation at 0803hrs, with a shipping date of 1-2 weeks (26/09-03/10) the phone actually arrived on 21/09, just remember though there were no day one jet black models, that won’t be the case this year, but I would say (as a guess) if you get your email confirmation from Apple by 0805hrs you’ll be looking at no longer than a 3 week wait from the release day!

From what I remember JB was 4 to 6 weeks out as soon preordering opened up.

That’s what I was trying to ask, how long did it take for the phones to go from release day delivery to being back ordered, not in store, online.

within the first 5 minutes at least, i went online to pre-order a 7 Plus when the store finally came back up it was showing 2-4 weeks, i was in that timeframe. Personally i don't mind being in the 2-4 weeks group as long as i get my iPhone X before Christmas i'm cool.

Ordered/got mail confirmation with Jet Black+ 256GB AT&T at 12:10am.
Got 1-2 weeks delivery (first shipment), no JBs at launch day tho so received the following Monday. Heard JBs dates started getting pushed back like a min - 5mins after?

7+ was a special case cause the Note 7 began to blow up and people switched to the 7+.

The 8+ is easy to get anywhere and it's only a month after the launch. For the X it will depend on demand.
