Hi, have a 700 mhz emac and sometimes there is a pop and then immediately after the screen flashes and them everything is fine but it seems its happening more often. Any ideas on what it is and can it be fixed?

Take a look though the vents and see if there's a lot of dust built up inside. There's a chance it could be just dirty. The dirt can provide a path for high-voltage - it arcs, you lose proper voltage to the CRT, then it recovers once the path get cleared by the arcing. (I'm over simplifying, but I think you can get the idea.) High humidity and dirt can make it even worse.

Take it outside (or a work area) and try blowing it out with compressed air (not necessarily shop air - that could be a bit much). Hope that takes care of it. It's still a capable machine.

Warning: Only open it if you are familiar with working around CRTs and their high-voltages. Even after the power is removed, dangerous and/or lethal high-voltage remains in the tube and other components (mostly the tube).
