7200 or 2.53 ?

    7200rpm or 2.53GHz?
    What do you think affect more daily performance? I understand that it depends if I use processor intensive software or huge files. What I am looking for is something like:
    - If you change the harddisk you get a X% improvemente
    - If the processor is faster you get x%
    Any tips?

    I'd say 7200 hard drive is better in the short run.

    But it's better to get the 2.53 GHz (or even 2.8) if you plan to keep the computer for a long time. It's easy to upgrade to a big 7200 drive later on (1TB in a year or two?) or an SSD in a few years when they are cheaper and super-fast. You can't just pop in a new processor like that.
