Is it worth putting the Caviar Black 7200RPM Drive in my PowerMac G5?

    Uses:
    School
    MacRumors
    Random Web Browsing

So nothing intensive, use my MacBook Pro for that, the PowerMac G5 is either on or in Sleep mode, almost never turn it off.

    Thanks!

Sure, just make sure you put that drive in SATA I mode via its jumpers or it may not work correctly in that machine.

Have one of these in mine and works fine, large file handling is compromised by the SATA I interface of course but general use and this drives comparatively speedy seek/low latency mean it should make your system a little more zippy.
