How does 2,134 songs take up 1TB? They must be pushing 4 hours each.

I have about 20,000 songs and it takes up a little over 100GB.

Just becuse he has movies and stuff. plus it is not full never said the drive was full

I'm currently at 7.4TB out of an 8TB array. 98% movies. Each movie averages around 4gb. (blue ray backups)

Mine is around 100GB, I keep it on a 160GB FireWire external hard drive. My music is around 15GB with the rest being TV shows and Movies. Every once in a while I clean out my library and move things that I don't listen to/watch to DVD, that's just so I can keep it nice and tidy (And continue to fit on that hard drive).

I like to have a playlist of all my movies and have the AppleTV just play that. no matter when i turn the TV on, there's always something good to watch.

I was at 23,838 songs last year, I'm down to ~18,000 now after getting rid of a bunch of songs on multiple albums. I also have about 700 movies on digits too.

That is not normal. He is probably using a cheap usb drive instead of firewire drive, is on a very old computer, or on a computer with minimal ram.

All audio is 256kbps AAC, and I have a fair number of 720p TV shows and 12 1080p movies. The rest are standard definition.

I have two versions of all my songs: Lossless and 256 Kbps AAC VBR. I rip all my CDs as lossless (I store the lossless copy on a backed up hard drive) then I convert them to AAC.

I don't listen to the lossless versions, they are just there so I don't necessarily need the physical CDs anymore.
