I think I have the smallest library! I'm sure a winner! :D

Nope :p all podcasts, I use last.fm all the time so don't need to collect music.

How are you guys backing up all of your data?

I just use time machine hooked up to a 3TB fw800 external drive for backup. Eventually (when it starts raining money) I'll move to something like a drobo with 4x2tb, RAIDed so that there are two 4tb clones doing back ups, so I have good safety for disk failure.

I had a 500 GB external hard drive filled with music, movies, ringtones and TV shows, but the damn thing died and was only able to recover about 1000 songs, 20 movies and 10 ringtones (I made these in garageband of course). I get ill thinking about all of the music, movies and TV shows I lost.

yah where i used to work the tech support group used to back up the desktop machines but the company-issued laptops were a concern. they used to tell the laptop users: "if you only back it up once then you haven't necessarily backed it up." that always rang in my ears so I back up my music and tv shows and movies redundantly, and the drives are not the same type in case some brand-specific firmware or hardware glitch reaches out to touch one of them some time.

8470 songs - 32.93GB
810 movies - 1.38TB
530 tv episodes - 260GB

no cable anymore - 3 appletvs - all content above streamed via wireless network.

370 artists, 1055 albums, 15052 songs, 45.4 days, 278 GB

My iTunes library is only for music, most of it is in apple lossless but I still have some old 320 kbps mp3's that I need to re-ripp to alac. All of my current alac's has been converted from flac using Max, most of them are 16 bit 44.1 khz but I do have a fair amount of high resolution 24 bit 96 khz albums that I've bought from HD-Tracks and Linn Records.

My four week old mbp 13 will soon need a bigger hdd (120 gb free out of 500)

I'm at 6093 songs, 17.5 days, 41.54 GB. Most, are lossless, as that is how i ripped them from cd. I have about 100 more cd's to rip, maybe put me over 8000 songs:)

I've got around 8k songs for about 35 gigs. Not as big as some of you, I'll admit, but big enough for my purposes. It is growing. A friend of mine has two terabyte drives filled with music and only music. He's got the biggest JUST MUSIC library that I've ever come across.

I have the biggest itunes library

1052 Movies, 77.9 Days, 376.02 GB
129 TV shows, 44 Days, 294.72 GB
Music 700 artists, 26823 songs, 72 Days, 101.31 GB

Total Size: 772.05GB

13,234 songs, 38 days, and 80.12 GB.

Barring podcasts, my entire itunes is devoted to music. My movies and TV shows are backed up on external hard drives.

16432 songs, 44.8 days, 123.71 gb

600 by 600 or better album art on every song. My analness!

I would highly recommend Album Art Exchange

My PowerMac G5 cannot even handle the library anymore.

About half of them are 320 kb/s or lossless, while I've only re-ripped a few albums from the days when 192 kb/s still seemed like enough.

Ripping at lossless for me would never work as converting to AAC from a CD already takes about 20 minutes.

All of it is backup up twice via FireWire 800 on a 1 TB MyBook Studio Edition.
