So i have been using a work laptop to fulfill my personal needs in addition to my 2018 iPad pro for a few years and decided to finally upgrade to a new MB since 2013. One thing I have been using a lot recently is the FaceTime camera so when I noticed that the camera on the new MacBooks was the same slimy potato as my 7 year old MacBook, I stopped to re read the specs again and think for a second..

Apple likes to brag each year about how much they improved the camera on the iPads, but they dont seem to care about how many people use their MB’s for conference video calls? Even before COVID, this was a weekly thing for me. My cheap ass dell PC has a 1080. The few photos I have that were taken on my 2013 MBP look like they are from my first Motorola razr flip phone!

How many people actually use or care about having a larger bump on the back of their iPad each year?!! Only people I have ever seen use the rear camera on iPads are tourists at national parks....

Anyone have any insight or something i’m missing here?

Reactions: Never mind
This is Apple's biggest flaw in the wake of covid. That and faceid. We need maskID and at least 1080p cameras. We keep buying so they keep cashing checks.

This has already been discussed.

For the most part it's not a problem as most video conceferencing app do not transmit above 720 anyways and video just as zoom is viewed in brady bunch blocks.

You beat me to it. Do we really need to have this discussion again? I'm sick of the snarky remarks anyways.
