I just checked it and look how it is now. It appears they removed the More Option (thus removing the Redeem that was inside of it) and just replaced it with Updates (like before).

Also, now we can see which apps have In App Purchases and the best sellings one for each.

Any thoughts on why they removed the Redeem? And how is it that it changed without updating the firmware?

How odd.

I thought adding the redeem feature was a great idea
Perhaps they will add it back in somewhere.

On a side note - was you on a boring phone call or just on hold? :D

Yeah, I also liked the redeem feature in there :( Don't know why they took it away. And yes, I was on hold :p

The changes happened with the 3.0 update.
I still see REDEEM under a button called "more"

Really? Thats really odd. I updated to 3.0 yesterday the minute it came out and it the more button was there. This morning I wake up and well you see how it is.

Its been that way since the launch of the app store.
Thats how I know there is updates to install

No it doesn't do that and no it hasn't done that since the launch of the app store. It will only show up without you opening the App Store by connecting your iPhone to iTunes.

No it doesn't. It only informs you if you open it and exit out without upgrading At least before 3.0. Not sure how it is now.

Yeah, but you have to load the AppStore app to see. I mean have it just tell you so you wouldn't have to check. You just see by the badge via push.

That is odd, I swear I was just in the app store about 10 minutes ago and it still had the more tab with update and redeem inside.

I've always gotten a badge on the App Store Icon to let me know when I have updates, without having to open it to check.

Is it possible that the "more" button is intuitive. Perhaps it only shows up if you have updates or something to redeem?

Yeh I noticed that it had disappeared also. Left me puzzled as always. Redeem is still under iTunes App on the phone tho.

It did when you synced to iTunes but still not push.

It may not be push, but I get app store update badges even when i don't sync to iTunes. I never check for app store updates, but I do download them when the badge appears. Not sure if it makes any difference, but I've always downloaded apps directly to my iPhone, rather than to iTunes first.

I have the GM build and the Redeem option seems to have disappeared overnight.

How is it that it disappeared without us updating the firmware? Unless they had some kind of expiration date for it and it automatically was removed or something like that.

Nope, like you said it just disappeared except I still had it literally 10 minutes before you started this thread. Wonder what happened.

Apple being Apple I guess. They want us to use iTunes on the computer?
