How many of the following threads are actually unique and necessary?

A lot of them, from a quick scan there is a whole range of different topics, hardware and scenarios covered.

You have people with bulging batteries, issues relating to the 17" model, calibrating, issues with the 13", reconditioning old battery, battery not charging, topping batteries off, integrated batteries etc. etc.

Yes there are a few threads that could be merged together but that list does not show the problem.

Due to the "integrated" nature of the battery in the entire Macbook Pro line, questions relating to those are hardly as unique as they were before WWDC. Calibrating/capacity threads usually go hand in hand; "I have a new 13" MBP and it says my capacity is only at 98%....is this normal????????" and even then the calibration procedure for battery model X is effectively the same for battery model Y.

Bulging batteries might be the odd one out.

There are some differences inherent with the different hardware that the computers have and also the types of use that the groups who use them. So there is an obvious case for having one thread per size. There is also the case for having one calibrate your battery thread but then there always has been and there are countless previous threads about those issues anyway. The list of threads you provided contains far more diverse issues than just the simple case that you are arguing for so the evidence provided is not relevant. e.g I just clicked a random sample from that list:

These are all pretty much unique and diverse issues and so suggesting that they be merged is not proper.

I don't doubt that there are issues with duplicate threads as there are and always will be about each and every topic. The issue is finding the appropriate threads to merge.
