Us Aussies pay about $650 for the 60g but that's after that price drop when they dropped the 40g. Maybe New Zealand has $750 iPods?

In New Zealand, a 60GB iPod Photo costs NZ$759 including GST, which is roughly US$535 😱. So... we've gotta pay an extra 19% to live in 'paradise' 😛

The US prices don't include tax, so once you subtract GST from the NZ price it ends up at about US$475, so it's not that bad 🙂
