Here are my 3G speeds over att's network on my 3GS. Oh I live in a little town outside Jacksonville, Fl. These were conducted in-doors at home.

1.11Mbps down.... I forgot the up.

3GS (indoors & away from outside)

Normal, IL

I will try it later when I am in PA.

Using the Speedtest app. and the Atlanta, GA server, here in Florida I frequently get 2100-2200 Kbps. But, when I test on other sites like dsl reports test, and toast.net, I tend to max out quite a bit lower, around 1600 Kbps or so. So, I have to wonder which is the more accurate speed test.

I should point out my speeds definitely get slower during typical bussiness hours due I'm sure to a lot of congestion and limited bandwidth.

for comparison purposes, everyone should def use the same app/website for sure...

OP im in jax, the fastest ive got was in Fleming Island and hit a little over 1900

Nyc

1223kbps down, 305kbps Up. The speeds are only this decent in the morning before 7am. Anytime after 7am, and I'm lucky if I get 200kbps down. NYC is horrible.

Try switching to the Atlanta server, it's much faster than the more local servers.

Wow, you are right. I am in NYC and I get terrible speeds on the NY/NJ servers, but just ran it on Atlanta:

But it pales in comparison to the speed test I ran while up in Rochester, NY for the weekend:

This particular cell I'm on is always pretty weak. It's better in my home town.

From July 2008 to January 2009 I used to get about 1,100 kbps all around Washington DC.

Since then it's been about 400 - 700 kbps wherever I go.

EDIT: And that's being nice. I just tested right now and got 232.

See attached (NYC)

That's amazing speed for NYC. I work in lower Manhattan and this is the best speed I've ever got during the day:

It's even worse where I live in Brooklyn. Where were you when you got that speed, and what time of the day was it?
