Just to give anybody who doesn't know a heads up. The 750gb passport se drive is too tall for a macbook. At least my model (3,1).

Can anybody point me in the direction of another good external drive that is 750 or bigger that will fit??

Also carbon copier reformatted the drive for the mac. How do I change it back and reset it to factory settings?

Thanks

Your MacBook accepts any 2.5" S-ATA HDD with maximum height of 9.5mm.
MRoogle will help you thousands of threads, dozens of them in the past few days, about this.

You can just get a 12.5mm drive enclosure if you have the bare 750GB bare drive.

Take a ruler and measure is it 9.5mm or 12.5mm. There has been two versions of that 750GB WD drive, other one being 12.5mm (now EOLed) and 9.5mm (currently being sold)
