My first piece of advice would be to use Google Maps or something to actually look at the DFW Metroplex ... Anyhow, I say all of that to say find out exactly what part of the area you are moving to and I can give you more specific information if you would like.
Thanks for this piece of advice... My parents have been looking at the southlake area, don't know where it is accourding, but they are looking because of the schools. I think that my dad will be working in Plano I think... I have driven around southlake using Google Streetview and it was shockingly empty! I can see the benefits of that (a good nights sleep is one, I live on a main street here).
So, let me know how I can help you out as you make this major move across the world. I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have or help in any way.
Thankyou. I'll be asking many
You will find teenagers in Dallas to be very similar to teenagers in Tokyo in their interests - cars, music and women ( for the guys); the difference being the type of cars, music and women.
I think you will find it very interesting and a great adventure in your young life. Coming to the States from a foreign country at your age is a culture shock, but if you make the best of it it can also be a great adventure. It is obvious your English is excellent, so you don't have that barrier. Take it as an adventure and ignore all the posts that talk about the negative stereotypes that Texas has.
Hahah good to know, hmm American girls.

Yea, my english is better than my Japanese probably

I have been to California, and Colorado before, (fell in love with Chipotle Mexican) and I think thats probably why i'ma little more nervous. California was quite a decent cityish place I suppose, but a bit scary. I hate LA airport. I loved the sun out in Denver, and I have many friends out there but its so empty. When I'm at those two places I really enjoy my self, but miss home you know?
Texas Stereo type is not what most of are. Most people do not drive big F150s and wear cowboy hats and so on.
Haha I spoke to my friends older sister who went to school out there, she told me that in Adeline it was like going back 40 years! That scared me, but then she was talking about the mannerisms. She said Texans are very friendly with the old southern charm. Thats good I suppose
Just wanted to say "Welcome to Texas" and find out how Tokyo's doing these days.
Had a chance to stop in there for a couple of weeks on my way to Okinawa and had a great time. Did you get a chance to hang out at the New Sanno? Is it still the big gathering place that it used to be? I was in town long enough to go climb Fuji, party at the once upon a time Juliana's of Tokyo and visit the Dai Butsu/Shinto temples.
All I can say is I hope you enjoy Texas as much as I enjoyed Japan. Best assignment of my career!
No I have never been to New Sanno, actually I don't know anyone who has!

Wow, you have done a lot! Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks btw!
Thanks everyone, I'm really feeling better.
I'll keep everyone posted with my questions and concerns lol.
