I just noticed, that the built-in video-cams on two iMacs (one white 20" and one aluminum 24") do not work.

System Profiler is not detecting a video-cam.

I guess, this probably confirms that this is not the GM build.

Does anyone have a solution to enabling the video-cams?

I hope we don't start seeing a lot of these types of threads popping up until AFTER Snow Leopard starts shipping. I would assume the best place to talk about Snow Leopard pre-release issues is on the developers forum (if you have a legal copy), or on the other thread about applications under Snow Leopard that is located here:

You also didn't mention what video cam you have. And since you have an iMac, why don't you just use iSight?
