Still have it in the regular HD bay. I have an optibay waiting to be loaded, I'll put my 500GB in there. But I'm gonna wait till I can upgrade to SL first since I'll need the DVD for that...
I did manage to find a SATA to USB converter so I can use the SuperDrive externally, but I'm not getting that till next week.
I just bought a MacBook Air SuperDrive from ebay for $30 CAD, shipped. It is broken because the cable is 'cut'. If you are handy, there are a few more up on ebay. At least it is tiny...and pretty.
I don't really (personally) see the value in getting one of these X25-M's, my crucial M225s performance is similar, yet costs £160 less. Am I missing something?
Most of the people with slower boot times with the X25-m are due to the presence of other non-SSD hard drives (since they have to spin up during boot as well). Another item that reduced performace is if your home folder is on a secondary rotational drive (again because that has to spin up during boot).
This is why you will see some SSD MacBooks have faster boot times than SSD Mac Pros.
