Curious to see what the responses on this topic will be. I'm noticing significantly improved battery life over the previous version so far (and no more "Cannot get mail" errors). I'm getting about 1.5 - 2 hours more battery life on my Air 2. My 5C always had great battery performance until 8.3, and now it seems to be back to normal again with 8.4.

How about you?

When I first installed 8.4 on my iPhone 6 plus and iPad Air 2 battery life was horrible, especially on my 6 plus. Once I disabled Apple music completely on both devices, battery life is back to normal. It might be slightly better. And yes it's nice not having those email error messages. I think that's what has improved the battery life since it's not constantly trying to connect to the servers.

How to disable it completely?

I'm getting significantly better battery life. Was getting about 4.5 hours usage, now I'm up to around 6. It's like I got a new battery. I'm very pleased.

What device? Without that type of information it's hard to put it all in the right perspective.

iPhone 5. Was getting around 4 hours solid usage over wifi.

iOS 8 I'm down to 46% after 4 hours 15 min random usage (messages, mainly safari.)

Those numbers are crazy good compared to what I was getting out of ios7. Hopefully it holds up

Interesting so many voted they're seeing worse performance now. I may have jumped the gun a bit with my iPhone, but there was definitely something with 8.3 that was killing my phone's battery that was solved with 8.4. The battery still isn't as excellent as it used to be, but I've had the phone for close to two years, so I'm sure that factors into things. My iPad Air 2 battery, on the other hand, is now lasting longer than my Air 1 did, which would give me a solid 10 hours of use. When I upgraded to the Air 2, I was getting about about 7-8 hours. After 8.4, I'm getting between 10-12 hours.
