So, anyone here a fan of 8-bit music? Does anyone have any good recommendations? I'm interested in original computer music, or pieces that people have put together recently, not necessarily game-related.

As a starting point, here is a link to some free Tron mp3s.

Ever heard "Closet Face" by "Copy"? Incredible song, I think it was done using an old C64 SID chip.

Check out 'Trey-Frey'. A very talented, young musician whose instruments are a set of old Nintendo GameBoys. Fantastic stuff.

    I recommend to visit http://www.8bitpeoples.com/.

Check out the albums from "random" (8BP051 and 8BP079). But there is enough other stuff to feed your 8-bit sound appetite. :)

Thanks for the recs so far. If anyone else is interested, here are a few other bits of 8bit I've found over the couple of years...

8 bit versions of Radiohead's Kid A & OK Computer:

Interesting chip music, where you buy the chip, power source and headphone jack, all ready in a cd case:

If you like the work of Arvo Part, you might like this 8bit version of Fratres:

I saw this guy at a house party. There were so many people in there that you could feel the floor flex in time with the music with the way everyone was moving. Scary but awesome all at the same time.
