No, I mean if you don't run all the other stuff on your system whilst you're benchmarking Logic. Good to see that Logic is using all available cores - the 8th core is probably being used by the OS.

Except that the octo has eight hyperthreading cores as well (which logic can use, as seen on the quads) so it's still only using half the cores on that machine.
 
So, with the 2 cores disabled on the 6 core, the quad still outperforms it?

So, what is the ranking now? 12 core #1, then what? Or does the 8 beat the 12 right now?

For reasons of memory and usage of programmes NEXT to Logic i was actually going for as many cores as possible. Does anybody have a statistic on the trackcount with the evan-test on an 8 core? The 12 core is reported to deliver up to 107 tracks befor conking out. I would be very interested to see the count on a "supported" 8 core ( even with the HT cores inactive).Shame it wil take a MAJOR upgrade to Logic to take advantage of the cores...
