Just upgraded my 2013 4GB RAM rMBP to a 2015 rMBP 8 GB RAM and it makes a world of difference performance wise. Is this why all of Apple's Retina MacBook products have 8 GB standard now?

My 2013 rMBP worked good (my GF loves it) but after using the 2015 edition, the older one seems slow.

I'll bet the faster SSD also helps. My early 2011 15" MBP was upgraded to 16G RAM and a 480G SSD. The difference blew me away. When I bought this mid-2014 rMBP with 16G and 480G SSD, the difference was not subtle. :D
