I'll be going out today to replace an iphone that was recently stolen, and am thinking of replacing it with a 16 gig. Any known problems or issues with these? Will I be better off sticking with the 8 gig?

We have an 8 gig and a 16 gig in our home... and both work fine - no issues from either. Of course, if you're looking at jailbreaking / whatever ... then I have no idea, as both of ours are 'stock'

from what i hear, the 16gb may have a nicer lcd screen.

however, any differences may be minimal. if you could afford the 16gb, get it b/c after the SDK is released, and depending on how accessible is the SDK (free or not), you may end up installing a bunch of apps

I upgraded from the 8 to a 16. I have noticed no other changes than the extra memory. But I do not get all anal about screen versions and BS like that- if it works, I am happy.

The new ZiPhone hack is much easier than what I had to do "back in the day", so that is an improvement (but that would be the same on 8 or 16).

Nothing seems to have changed. The speaker volume is still the same, and the screen is about the same. I can't really tell if it's nicer or not, seems to band a bit more than my old one - or i could be dreaming.

There shouldn't be a difference at all really apart from the disk size.

Sorry mate.. I'm pretty sure you understood exactly what I was trying to say. ;)

I should have said storage then. I'm sure alot of users on here wouldn't even know what SS Ram was.

It could be a rumor, but from what I hear the 16 gig has double the memory of the 8 gig.

I sold mine. Lost some money on it, but I really wanted more space.

OK. Im getting one soon, very soon. You know with the extra cash lying around, Ive almost got enough for a 16 gig but not quite, should I wait, is it worth it, or should I go out and get the 8 gig. Ive been waiting for this for a long time...

ThegodofWine. Wait. Because it might seem a while, but the rumours will be firming up v. soon, and it ain't that far away, to then get an iPhone at the start of it's cycle, all shiny and updated.
