If it doesn't have a home button, I'm not buying it. My 8+/7+ may be my last iPhone purchase ever.
I have an 8 plus myself and was wondering if there was others who are thinking of getting the new X not the plus sized, and think there will be any changes to this year's x, externally.

Am I allowed to answer? Not upgrading this year or maybe next. Not because I "hate the notch" or love the home button or whatever. I just want to get off the upgrade every two years (astonished at those who can upgrade every year unless they have some kind of upgrade plan) cycle.
I want to keep my 7 plus as long as I can, I'll even pay Apple full price for a battery change when the time comes.
Edit: typos arggg
Well fair enough, just musing on the cost of upgrading plus a mild case of guilt about consumerism (which I am a full participant in) and replacing functioning gadgets frequently. But for a lot of folks yearly upgrades work well for them. Why astonished about people upgrading every year?! That’s as normal as upgrading every other year. Just depends on what works for different type of people.
Good point. For me lately though it's been more of a device I tend to just carry from place to place rather than putting it in a pocket, which I almost never do anymore.I’m an 8 Plus user and I think I’m going to change for the 5.8 sized refresh of the current iPhone X.
I’ve had two plus sized iPhones now and much as I do like the screen size, the practicality, for me, just isn’t working anymore. It’s been more noticeable recently as the UK has had the closest thing to a decent summer for many years. When wearing shorts most days I’ve really noticed how pocket unfriendly the device is.
I agree. I’m on Apple Upgrade Plan but not interested in Face ID. Will probably hold onto 8 PlusNot enough of an upgrade for me this year.
Yes, I'll be moving to the X Plus from the 8 Plus. Not a huge fan of losing the home button but my fingerprints have always been unreadable (not just by the iPhone) so FaceID will give me a much better logon success rate. Besides, it's time to move on to the full screen (notch not withstanding), I don't think we're going back at this point.

Will likely upgrade to an X+. Hate the notches, but want a camera update. Too many memories every day to not have the best camera in my opinion. Would go to the base 6.1 but looks like it’s not going to have dual camera, and I don’t want a 5.8 that’s smaller than my 8+.
There is a middle-ground in terms of screen size but that particular model is looking to be a more budget oriented device with lower specs than the current 8 Plus.100% agree with you.
[doublepost=1531832831][/doublepost]...is the new X likely to be bigger than the current X but smaller than the 8 Plus though?
This has happened with me also, but more out of necessity than choice. It’s also been more noticeable of late as I’ve lost quite a substantial amount of weight and smaller clothes have smaller pockets.Good point.
