I hate the scalper mentality...It screws up the production and stock transit, and benefits only a handful of people who are prepared to pay these insane prices...Here is the UK version:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_t....Xiphone+5S&_nkw=iphone+5S&_sacat=0&_from=R40

I doubt they can ever really be stopped, but what happened to patience? I have my Gold 5S on order...okay, it's going to take a little longer to rock up, but £1000.00 for the same 32GB model that I just paid £524.00 for? Double the money just for so called kudos?

Nuts.

Rant Over

They send out massive teams of sellers. Wait in line early, buy phones, load up car, return to store and keep buying. Then ship everything for next-day delivery.

Doesn't really bother me. If there are rich people who want to pay to have their iPhone NOW and don't want to wait in line, then why shouldn't somebody provide that service for them and make a buck?

That is crazy! Whoever will spend $1000 on a phone rather than waiting is just plain crazy.

Who? The same people who ordered an iPhone 5S from Verizon and ATT, then went to stand in line for 8 hours...all just to get one phone and return the rest when they arrived.

Welcome to the "now" mentality.

The rich are different. There are quite a few of them also

I know people who if they ran out of gas they would just leave the car and might just forget about it. They forget how many houses and apts they have!

It probably is not all that healthy :D

But I wonder how many scalpers will get scammed with charge backs?

People around my area on craigslist are asking anywhere from 800-1200 for 16gb sprint iphone 5s... Which is crazy

What do mean by a scalper getting a chargeback?

I really don't see why you guys think this is crazy. It's difficult to get an iPhone 5S right now. Like people have said earlier there are richer people that do not want their time wasted. Can't blame resellers, it's a business for them too.

One another note, care to explain why your forum name is SimplyiPhone, you have a GS4 in your sig and you're here on this forum?

I don't have a problem with either. That said, there is no way I'd every buy a phone for that kind of money.

Saving this for the history books.

Currently over 2000 listings of iPhone 5s, multiple sizes

Space grey, ~ $850, more if larger GB
Silver, ~ $1000, more for larger GB
Gold, ~ $1200, 64 GB model ~$1500 to $2000

Highest completed auctions, gold 64 iPhones at approximately $2000

I encourage others to check my cursory analysis.
