MP 1,1-5,1 802.11ac, BT 4.0, Continuity, and Handoff Working on Mac Pro 2010

I‘m running Windows Build 1709 with the Bootcamp 6.1 from the iMac17,1. I got this Bootcamp Software via Brigadier. So in the device manager the driver looks fine.

The strange thing is that Bluetooth work with the driver, but only when I reset the devices and pair it only with Windows.

Can someone say me how long the UF.L to RP-SMA cable has to be? I want to get the cable from the installed BT-card to the PCI slots.

How do you completely uninstall CAT?

I think high sierra update screwed up something and my handoff is not working right. when I have mail or contacts open on my iPhone, my mac shows iphone app icon on left of the dock but not vice versa. also personal hotspot doesn't work.
So I tried to run CAT and uninstall but it still shows active.
I uninstall with recovery still same thing. also it screwed up my BT kext as BT not availablet yet my magic mouse and trackpad connected! so I had to reinstall BT kext from my time machine.

Can anybody tell me the exact part No of the adapter card needed for cMP 5,1?

The problem is... there is no official part number for 5,1. All we know just which card can work in a 5,1. And the details are in this thread.

My primary goals were:
  • 802.11ac / Bluetooth 4.2 (or at least 4.0)
  • no kext patching
  • only use internal antennas
  • use the internal Mini PCI Express (mPCIe) connector
  • use parts that are commonly available / not overpriced
  • no kit, since availability is limited / kits are overpriced in my opinion
  • don't destroy stuff, aka. don't cut any cables
Basic information about the MacPro Wireless internals:
  • the MacPro's internal mPCIe connector misses the USB data lanes (contrary to the standard)
  • the three internal antennas are fine for 802.11ac, but a 4th antenna is needed for Bluetooth
  • the stock bluetooth chip is connected via USB and uses another internal antenna
  • there are about 20cm / 8 inch distance from the Bluetooth connector to the mPCIe socket
General plan (similarly used by the kits out there):
  • install a Apple Wifi/Bluetooth Card using an mPCIe -> Apple proprietary adapter
  • inject USB D+/D- lanes from the old Bluetooth connector to mPCIe adapter
  • extend the Bluetooth antenna to reach the mPCIe socket
As the general plan seems to be pretty easy, the details are a little bit more complicated. To get the right parts, all the connectors need to be known in detail:
  • the stock Bluetooth card uses a proprietary cable, which is not widely available. However the connector on the Logic board is 1.25mm hole-to-hole distance, and uses a Micro JST 1.25 4-Pin connector
  • all antennas use U.FL (aka. IPEX, IPAX, IPX, AMC, MHF, UMCC) connectors
  • macOS supports these broadcom chips:
    • BCM4360
      • BCM94360CD: iMac (Late 2012), MIMO 3x3, BT4.0
      • BCM94360CS: MacPro Retina 15'' (Late 2015), MIMO 3x3, BT4.0 (shared antenna), MHF4 connectors
      • BCM94360CS2: MacBook Air (Mid 2013), MIMO 2x2, BT4.0, MHF4 connectors
    • BCM43602
Buying stuff... I prefer websites using english websites, so my main sources are AliExpress and eBay.

So in total I spent 49.34$ for full 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.2 in my cMP 4,1.

I'd like to encourage you you do this upgrade in the same manner. The only thing that didn't go well in the first place was the wrong DF13 connector, the rest is pretty straight forward.

As far as I understood, V3 adapter which does not require soldering would work in 5,1 together with BCM943602CDP
...Or am I missing something?

One BIG Question:
to enable SIP i have to restart in Recovery-Mode, right?

But my Mac Pro 5,1 does not boot in Recovery-Mode because i have a PCIe SSD as a Boot Volume.

Am i right?
What can i do to disable SIP anyway?

AFAIK, boot from PCIe SSD won't stop you having recovery partition.

OK one (hopefully) last question:
if there will be a system update like from the current 10.13.3 to the upcoming 10.13.4 – have a to do anything? Disable SIP again oder Running CAT again? Or just do nothing and update as usual?

Usually, only need normal update, no need to touch CAT or SIP again.

Just installed BCM943602CDP in cMP 5,1 via adapter and it worked with the first try. :) Reports BT4.2 and WiFi ac.

I was surprised that even my BT keyboard and mouse and WiFi reconnected automatically not requiring any password, etc.

AirDrop works OOB.

[doublepost=1523045827][/doublepost]The only issue is that my BT2.1 HiFi receiver lags even more than with BT2.1 card in the MAC.
When I disconnect the Logitech T630 mouse sound is flawless even if Anker BT3.0 keybord is still connected...But not vice versa...

Got Handoff to work after a while as well. Had to sign out/in to my account as well for it to finally start working.

is there a manual way to remove CAT completely and reinstall?
My system is kinda screwed up and when I try to uninstall using CAT, it goes thru uninstallation, but when I try to reinstall, it says it's already installed and activated.

when I open up a contact on my iphone, mac will show handoff on the dock and will see it but it won't do it in vice versa.
I'd like to get this thing to work.

Which OS version you are running now? I experienced your symptoms back in 10.13.0 or 10.13.1. But from memory, since 10.13.3, Handoff work very flawless with CAT.

I'm 10.13.4

It looks like all the handoff function from iphone to mac works, but not from mac to iphone.

From terminal, but you need to know the script location, which is stated inside the readme file.
