Post your uptimes as of this minute!

Go into /Applications/Utilities/Terminal and type 'uptime' [enter]

how about some setup descriptions as well (hardware/OS version)?

Code:
quicksilver:~ edesignuk$ uptime
23:11 up 3 days, 5:27, 2 users, load averages: 0.27 0.10 0.08
Not all that, had a kernel panic the other day  Think it was at about 16 days before that.

edit: sorry, missed that u wanted machine details too. 2002 dual 1GHz Quicksilver, 10.3.4.

23:28 up 7 days, 23:13, 2 users, load averages: 0.41 0.51 0.52

ibook 300mhz

who are the 2 users? i just have 1 user account & what are the load averages?

Code:
17:36 up 1 day, 20:43, 2 users, load averages: 0.63 0.51 0.33
I know its not much but it was easier to install my new RAM when the computer is off.
iMac G4 1 GHz
512 MB RAm
10.3.4
What do the load averages mean?
edit: Sorry the load avg question was already asked. I didn't see it.

9 days, it was a lot more before my friend for some unknown reason shut it down to bring it upstairs !!!

jane@Mordor.local:~ $ uptime
15:40 up 3 days, 1:32, 6 users, load averages: 2.29 2.05 1.75

17" pb, 1ghz, 1gb ram, et cetera, 10.3.4. Tiger is too blech.

has some problems though, i think a restart might fix it.

i used to have crazy uptimes with jag, now with panther theyre two weeks at most :(

edit: i just noticed the two load average questions. the load averages are displayed in a one minute/five minute/fifteen minute format, the numbers are usually in a x.xx format, and the numbers themselves are an average of the number of processes that are ready to run or are running.
ie if you have two processes performing computations for the past minute, the one minute load average will be two.
There's no real minimum or optimal load average, it depends on you and the specs of the computer. the load averages are highly inaccurate and skewed (depending on the definition of what you call a process), so just ignore them ;) its just something the kernel needs for setting priorities and stuff.

and also, the multiple users...you logged in right now accounts for one user. for each terminal window you open or user login, theres another user, et cetera.
assuming from my uptime, i should have five terminal windows open...and i do :)

Mine was 52 days as I posted above but today I had my first kernel panic ever (in 1 month shy of 1 year) as I was in Photoshop working on a huge file. The only thing that stops me is the required restarts for system/software updates. Oh well, looks like I'm going to have to just beat my record again ;)

PS - I modified a Konfabulator widget for my own use and it posts my uptime (or best recorded uptime) as my away status in iChat.

My iMac it's:
18:09 up 3 days, 7:44, 2 users, load averages: 0.93 0.59 0.78

My iBook:
18:08 up 26 days, 32 mins, 2 users, load averages: 0.65 1.67 1.48

:D

a new personal record...

up 50 days, 23:37,

I ought to restart but i gotta keep the streak alive!

Looks like you'll have me in a couple days. What I've done is instead of restarting just logging out from time to time. It seems to help some.

Here we go again

3 days, 15:48 (I rebooted the other day to see whether my Yellow Dog CD still works). Using an MDD 2003, upgraded to 1 GB memory plus a Pioneer 106.

156 days, 18:47 on my Linux desktop. Does that count? :D

Dual P3 Xeon 700, 440GX chipset, reg-ecc RAM. I don't think its crashed since nVidia sorted their drivers out a couple years ago.
