i couldn't agree more. i want a MBP ASAP, but since i don't NEED it, i don't wanna risk buying something that would update in a few days.

Apple won't do anything that takes away from the marketing of iPad. Even a silent update gets front page billing on apple.com. We won't see anything until iPad is released for sale. There will be an event to talk about the iPhone OS 4.0 and at that time the MBAs and MBPs will get a silent update.

I voted April 6th... If I were Apple, I wouldn't want to steal the iPad's thunder... I would wait about a month after it's release and just when the Apple hype is starting to die down... BAM! new Macs... and I mean all of them!

Its somewhat disheartening to still not hear about resellers saying that the current model is approaching its EOL or shortage of stock. That's what usually happens, a couple of weeks before a product revision. I'm refreshing MacRumors every half an hour just to read such a news.

However, I wrote this in another thread too, MBPs are refreshed at exact intervals of 8 months. It has been like this since 2006, you could see the dates on the MacRumors buyer's guide.

So, February, probably at the end. I really can't wait any longer !
