    Ok folks,

At my wits end here - I've been trying for months to get Bootcamp / Windows XP 32-bit to work. All goes well until I install the drivers and then after rebooting it will not start up; blue window with "Windows is starting up" remains on screen forever.

I've installed WinXP with SP3 and used the supplied Apple drivers and ran the Bootcamp update.

Tried it before with SP2. Same thing.

Many, many times through wiping the drive and starting all over again with a fresh windows install. If I remove the Nvidia drivers in safe mode, then restart, it usually will start up fine again - albeit with no graphics driver.

However, this last time removing the graphics drivers did not help. I'm stuck at the "Windows is starting up" screen.

Running off to have dinner the hell away from my house so as not to destroy my entire office in a slowly-building-over-the-last-four-months rage... any help that anyone could offer would be greatly, greatly appreciated! I have paid work coming up in a week that I am going to have to cancel if I can't get this thing working...

Thanks. [takes long, long deep breath]

With your machine, Vista64 bit would be the operating system of choice. Updated drivers and better utilization of memory and video card GPU are some benefits.

    x2.

Vista64 is awesome. Why are you trying to run a dinosaur of an OS like XP anyway?

Bad response? You mean the one it got back in 2006 when it first came out, or the FUD that people around here like to spread? I will say this though, if you're going to move to Vista, go all the way and get 64. Vista 64 is fantastic. I don't know why but it really does feel like going from night to day.
