Would it be possible to upgrade the current MBPs to 8GB of RAM if they ever come out with 4GB sticks?

it is a limitation of the chipset. However, I think the documentation for the Santa rosa chipset states that it can address up to 8gb once 4gb sticks become available.

Would that mean that 8gb would be available on the macbook pro as soon as they become available or has apple limited this?
