8GB memory in a 17" Unibody 2.8 Core2Duo?

As the title says, will a 17" Core2Duo 2.8 MBP use the full 8GB?

I have found 2x4GB sticks for £111 at Crucial in the UK, is this a good deal?

Don't quote me on this but I thought I had read somewhere that it could use more than 8GB. I can't seem to remember where though.

As for using more than 8... maybe... I wouldn't want to pay for 8gb sticks though.. IIRC samsung was going to be making some... haven't heard of anyone actually using them though

I would recommend using SL 64-bit if using greater than 4GB RAM.
