I've partitioned my 8GB USB memory stick using Disk Utility in Snow Leopard and gave it the format of MS-DOS(FAT). It completes successfully, and works within Snow Leopard however when I plug it into Windows, it says its unformatted and needs formatting. It only gives me the option to format 200MB!!! What is going on? I know formatting more than 2GB in FAT is impossible or something but I did it with my external HDD and it works perfectly in Windows. I'm so confused! :S

I'm not 100% sure, but I think this might happen if you format it as GUID instead of MBR. Go to the partition tab and change the scheme from Current to 1 Partition. Click Options... at the bottom and change the selector to MBR.

That worked thanks!
