OP: if you don't want to share the seller (why wouldn't you?), do yourself a favor and check with reseller rating. If it's too good to be true, it probably is...

A 4GB DDR3 SODIMM for $300 is a deal, so if you have a seller somewhere offering you 8GB worth of DDR3 for that amount it's either really DDR2 or it "fell off a truck".

Wow. Not wanting to share with other people? Nice.

You come on MacRumors and ask people for help and you can't even let people in on some deals.

Its DDR3 and I have the new 15-inch. The one released in June.

Link please? Also, I don't think you need it. As someone said earlier, it's overkill. I have the exact same laptop and rarely have less than 1 GB free even while having open many (5-15) tabs on Safari, Skype, iTunes, iPhoto, some other small apps, and Parallels 4.0 running Windows XP w/1 GB RAM dual core mode, which in itself has 2-5 apps open at any given time. All this time I have almost no page outs (around 100,000) compared to page ins.

Just my 2.01 cents:D.

I don't want the link to this because it's probably a scam. Ram prices for 8GB DDR3 have never dipped below $700. a $300 is TGTBT.

Yes. There's a reason you're not posting the link on the site Boesky. You post 2 threads a day asking stupid questions that require no more than a MRoogle search, yet when people ask you to post this magical link, you won't

OP differently buy the ram.. it's a godsend.. I currently have 8gb on my white macbook and it runs 400% faster than when I only had 3gb. I also had the intel x-25 E ssd, and I realized the performance gain from that vs. my 5400 rpm hitachi was only a mere 1%...not as much as the 400%.. so OP listen to me and buy the ram and not waste the money on Intel's X-25 E or their newer second generation x-25M with TRIM... cause it's utterly useless compared to a fully functionally 5400 rpm hitachi hd. ;)

Yeah, and 400% faster, that's a lot man...could it be...naaah, it could'nt?? But still.....could it MAYBE be ironi??

Someone tell Apple! Can you imagine the commercial "This is a white (read: POS) Macbook. You can websurf, write emails, and tag pictures on iPhoto (with the iphone narrator doing all this) and now, we've made it 400% faster.

Then the screen goes white and words come on the screen :

The 8GB White Macbook

I see no point on spending 300.00 on a 8G Ram. In one year that ram will be 100.00 or less. If you have 4G right now why do you need to trouble that? Well if you will buy the 8G I'll buy your 4G Ram. ;)
