Just out of curiosity (and I did not search the threads  ) but what are considered "high" page-in and page-out numbers?

With 8GB RAM, I consider any page file with regular usage to be too high. But for me, regular usage is just chrome, VLC and a few background applications. Add a VM and/or Lightroom, I'm sure that I get some page file. Never bothered to check the access amount though.

So the fact that I have 110,00 page ins and 0 page outs after 5 hours of uptime on 8GB RAM is okay, but last night I had 1 million page ins and 11,000 page outs is bad?

This is with Safari, Mail, MS Word, and a few background apps running.
