Well if you want SSD, then the only real choice ATM is to do a CTO order and your MBP comes 3gb. All the MBP have the connection it is just disabled. So to those who truly want that connection right off the bat should look into (even if it is painful) ordering the SSD with Apple to remedy the current issue for some.

Just get a 17", its probably cheaper than the crapy Apple provided SSD

I know it, its an option though if looking for the 3gb

...SSD is such a new tech, this is probably the single most NEEDED CTO option that is a must and to put applecare on the machine at the same time... that way when the unit slows/fails you will get the newer tech to replace it...
 
I don't max out my current 2GB of RAM in my MBP. I'm amazed that 4GB RAM comes standard now. I would choose a SSD in a heartbeat over 8GB RAM. So awesome...
