9.1 PB Emoji's

The new emoji's won't send properly to a phone with 8.4.1. They show up as a ?. If color is an option, it also shows a square colored box next to the ?. Works properly to another 9.1 device. Don't know about a 9.0 device.

They won't show on a pre 9.1 device because the 8.4.1 iPhone doesn't have an icon for the new emojis hence it just shows the weird ?
