Hi, i'am planning to buy and activate iPhone SE 16gb (ye i know 32 is the same price) My question is: now when Apple sign only ios 11 will be possible to to update from 9.3 to 10.3 manually via iTunes ipsw file?

i really want to avoid ios 11 and stay as long as possible on 9.3 but some apps from Appstrore may force me to update to ios 10 in future.

Apple signing latest version for that device, so whatever is latest version supported on the device, that’s what you can reload.. you either stay on the 9.3 or update to latest for that device. Can’t do anything in between.. just looked that up. I believe 11.1.2 is supported on that device, so that’s where you would be if you restored it..

I’ve lucked out a couple times and I’ve gotten replacement phones with previous iOS on them and enjoyed them for a bit on previous before updating.. I almost always update immediately when new iOS released.. have 6s+ currently on 11.1.2. Works fine.

If you can afford it, get a ip7 or 8.. If it’s the smaller form factor bringing you to the SE, I would get something larger than 16gb if you can.. unless you don’t use slot of apps or take lots of pics/vids.. I always get largest storage available. 128gb on this +. Pics/vids eat up space quick!

no it wont force me on setup for sure, but some apps from appstore may start to require ios 10 soon as they require now ios 9 as for example Twitter:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/twitter/id333903271?mt=8

Right.. but you can still run the version of app supported on the version of iOS u have.. some new app features would obviously not be available.. all on what you want...but like I said, I would get more storage than 16gb..32gb minimum! I’ve got 128gb. My next one will have 256 or whatever they’re putting out at that point..

ye 32 would be better but problem is Aplle said (via phone) that i can get SE 32 with 11 onboard🙂 all depend on factory date and u cant check that on box ;/ so its gotta be SE 16

Oh..yeah ok. 11 works well on my 6s+.. why are you wanting to avoid it so badly?.

because i really want 4" and ios 11 is fonts are toooo big (they may be fine on 6+/7+/8+ but not on SE, standby and usage time also works better on 9/10

Yeah.. battery life is always a concern.. I believe font sizes can be changed in settings..
