Hrm. My battery even after its first full charge is behaving a little dodgy. I keep my screen brightness at 1/4 and it's on track for maybe 6-7 hrs usage o_O

Can't be right...something's not jiving.

iOS battery reporting is an inconsistent mess. On my old iPad 3 would report 2 days of "usage" even if I barely touched it.

Now this new tablet (wifi only, strong signal) is dropping a percent every 2-3 minutes even just browsing this forum at low brightness and is likely going to get almost half of the advertised battery life. :(

Today my battery was very good (only just scraped past the 10 hours, a day after receiving it) I got:

Usage - 13 hours
Standby - 27 hours 20 mins

Still had 16% left at this point so I reckon I'd of got maybe another hour and a bit out of the remaining charge.

Hmmm. What is your brightness on? Mine is usually 50% or lower because I find the screen much brighter than the iPad Air 2's.
I think it really depends on what you're doing. I don't trust the actual battery percentage too much, it's not a very linear rate. I get the feeling that having my brightness set at 80% or so and using notability really impacts the battery life. Typically my brightness is somewhere between 50 and 80% I honestly don't really pay attention to it. I just set it to what's comfortable to use.

I have yet to run it dead before bedtime. I'm going to charge it every night either way so I don't really know why people get all caught up in the exact length of time they get out of it. I feel like 10 hours is probably a good round number. Maybe I'll get more sometimes, maybe I'll get less.

Just under 13 hours of usage with 9% remaining. 28 hours of standby.

My second full cycle was nearly identical to this. Recharging from 8-100% with the included 10-amp charger took about 4 hours and 15 minutes, and I was using the iPad much of that time.

My iPad Pro is down to about 40% after a day of teaching, which for today comprised about 3 hours of AirPlay mirroring while annotating on PDFs in notability, plus 1.5 hours of PDF annotation while it is hooked up to a VGA projector. Mine is the cellular version.

Pretty fair, I would say. The Apple Pencil is certainly paying for itself here.

Not unless you are using cellular. I use mine mainly in WiFi but I do notice when I have to switch to cellular the battery does take a bigger hit. I would expect it to do so.

Overall the battery in my 9.7 is a none issue.
I would be curious to see them both tested with Cellular service and without.
