9to5mac is reporting there will be no iPad Air 3, but instead that Apple will release a 9.7'' iPad Pro that will feature pencil support and also will have the smart conector.

If this actually becomes true, how many of you would buy the product? Would anyone change from the actual Pro to the smaller one? I am interested in knowing your impressions.

In my case I really don't know what to do, on one side I would actually prefer the smaller version, I use the iPad mostly as a student and for PDF reading and annotations I actually prefer the Air dimensions, also even though I find the iPad Pro really portable I do find that with my Apple silicone case and with the Smart Keyboard connected the device ends up being a little heavier that what I like.

On the other hand I am afraid I may miss the extra screen space for web browsing and also other times like when I am using the split screen feature.

So if this becomes a reality I have absolutley no idea with what I'll end up doing.

Slap on the label "Pro"

Really Apple?

I'm sure there'll be takers but count me out. Can't imagine why anyone would want one unless they've just got to spend their money.

You mean, other than the A9X chip, 4 speakers, 4 GB or RAM, and the new connector for an external keyboard?

I personally don't have a need for any of those features, so I'll be sticking with my Mini 4, but if the price isn't unreasonable I can certainly see why others would be interested.

How's this any different than any other tech upgrade? This actually sounds like a more substantial jump than most.

I have an Air 1 and Im contemplating it. I dunno. The Air 1 still gets the job done for me at this point. Im intrigued by the extra RAM and speakers. Pencil means nothing to me.

As I always harp on, they MUST get rid of the screen/chassis vibration problems that plagued the Air 2 before Id even consider it though. Ill wait until my local shops have them and take one for a test drive. If Best Buy has a good trade in deal then that could also sway me.

it's just another name for iPad Air 3 we've all assumed it would be called. an iPad Pro Mini.

i imagine the takers will be all those holding on for the new Air3 :)
