Just got my 64GB iPhone 5 and started the 'restore from backup' process via iTunes. I'm on my iMac running 10.8.2 and on the latest iTunes version. Backed up my 4S in the morning.

Something strange is going on, because the time remaining to complete the restore keeps going up!

It's now showing 9 hours left (which was 6 hours about 10 minutes ago).

What's going on? I don't ever recall phone backups taking so long, with no real end in sight.

Any ideas? I can't even cancel the restore from anywhere.

Many thanks,
SJ

Ghost bug of some sort...

Thanks for that.

So I force-quit the restore by disconnecting the lightning cable, restarted my mac, restarted the phone and restarted the restore.

8 minutes and the deed was done. That's a whole lot better than 8 hours ;)

Looks like a one-off case...(I hope)
