The iPad that will be announced tomorrow will be prices exactly the same as the current iPad Air 2. It will replace the iPad Air 2. The iPad Pro is a far more powerful high end iPad.

With Adobe Flash still dominate, i started to use my iPad air & keyboard more and actually prefer it. I am so sick of Adobe flash and how much of a battery drain it is on my MBP.
You know you can just not install Adobe flash, right? Either way, each person can have their own device preferences. :)

Problem is that a lot of desktop designed websites won't function as it is expecting flash installed. But when i surf the web on my iPad, I don't have that problem as the site knows that I'm not running Adobe flash and they have an alternative ready for it. (hope that makes sense).

Makes total sense. I haven't encountered that much personally (and I always fall back to chrome when Safari has issues), but I can see it being a frustration if it hobbles the websites you frequent. And I agree iPads can be nice for web browsing. I guess my quandary will be whether they are $800+ nice :p

That's not the reason why I'm buying (or planning) to buy the new IPad. One of the main reasons is that my dad just switched from Samsung to an iPhone and I'm planning to give him my iPad.

for sure. i more meant in my own case. i have an iPad 3, which is heavy and slow on ios9, but nothing really piqued my interest to upgrade until the drawing capabilities got added to the pros. the combo of a digital sketchbook as well as a lighter, faster overall iPad experience was tantalizing. but now that its looking like upwards of a $1000 investment to get that, i'm more conflicted. :(

The best part that 999 dollar will translate into ~1150 euro probaly.
I also refuse to pay that for a ipad with a very VERY slight spec bump. No one cares about a camera flash and the usual processor and gpu boost. The ram is also fine on the ipad air 2. Alot of fast multitasking. The 4 speakers are great........and thats pretty much the only thing thats gonna get improved and we need to pay 100 dolkar EXTRA for that. 200 in total if you also want the pencil. No thanks apple. This goes too far.

If the 128gb version is going to the 950 CAD, then I'm better off buying the bigger size and just making 2 visa payments to pay it off. Right now, I'm budgeting to buy the newer iPad on visa and completely pay it off on April 7 (one of the advantages of doing a budget on a spreadsheet).

Going to be an interesting Monday for sure.

How long does it usually take for the new products to reach the stores in Canada following an announcement? I.e. if the new iPad is available online right after the keynote, can we expect the iPads to be in-store the next day, later in the evening?

Hard to say. Could be order online tonight and in store on Friday. However, it's a good possibility that won't be available in store until next Friday since Good Friday is this week.

if we base it off current exchange, the 128GB version will be around 999 before taxes.

Basing this off the announced $749 for the 128gb announcement

i hate that the only thing i want in this iPad is the pencil, and for that i have to spend $430 extra than getting an air 2.

considering without the pencil i wouldn't bother with an iPad at all, this doesn't feel like a worthwhile purchase anymore. :(

and 799$ for the 32GB.

Do you think we'll be able to buy on the 31st online and pickup the same day? Will they allow in-store pickup since they are new devices?

question, can anyone say whether there have been any sales on the 12.9 pro in canada? is there precedent that in a couple months there might be a decent deal?

The 12.9 128GB is a slightly better deal exchange wise.

Stevemiller, I can't recall a sale on the 12.9.

If we pre-order the new iPad on Thursday are they delivered on the 31st, or do they ship it on the 31st? Still debating if I should go in store on the 31st or pre-order Thursday.

I would just go to the store.
