Not sure if this should go in the picture gallery, but it seems more suited here. Many people (including myself) are torn on which display to get, but the few AG pictures around here have really been great for persuasion, so keep em coming!

If youve got one, show it off! Different lighting/angles may help.

The anti-glare MBP's would be so much nicer with a black bezel. The silver is a little too reminiscent of the Powerbook imo.

Thats a good thing since the Powerbooks and early Macbook Pros were so nice looking. Someone can probably make a black cover for the bezel... like a sticker that just goes around the edge and is easy to take off. you can easily make it any color you want if you really wanted to that bad.

And yeah I agree, when I got my first MBP in 06 I drooled over how it looked. When the unibody came out I thought it looked great but wasnt in awe.

Ive grown to love the unibody just as much over time, and adding that silver bezel just makes it all that much sweeter.

I love the anti-glare mbp. Unfortunately, at present, my budget only will allow the 13" glossy. I hope I can deal with it.

haha.. why didn't I think of tape? you can have a new color for every day of the week!
Even though I love the silver, I'll probably put some on mine to change it up a bit once in a while

Sorry for the crappy pictures, im hardly a photographer. I could take better photos later on today when I have more time. (perhaps cleaning the dust off it too!)

These are of the screen facing a large window on a sunny morning, screen perfectly readable, unlike my 13" white macbook!

Don't know why a no. of ppl is very serious about the black bezel~
Even though they like the matte one!!!

Because it looks like the old MacBook Pro?? Rubbish!!!

PS: Just get what u want and like, something good for your eye is important too~

Looks great! Are you (or anybody else who bought one) worried about dust etc. getting into the grap on the panel?

About as much as I was with my macbook. That said the join seems to be a bit tighter and as its made of metal and not plastic which will bend, so I think it'll fair better.

Good pics. I read your other post but i didnt realize you hated the silver bezel at first. Grew on you quickly I presume?
 
We spent some time at the apple store and never even considered the glossy screen, too much glare even in the store with all the lights. Got the 17 anti glare and I too really prefer the silver around the screen.

I'm pro AntiGlare, but you can't really use the Apple Store as a benchmark for glossy. It's WAY too bright in there. Unfortunately they can't give you a loaner to test our your personal lighting situation :)
 
I was going to go glossy on my 15" but after looking at this thread I am really starting to like the silver bezel.

Also, I sat next to a friend with a 15" previous gen with a glossy display and it had mad glare because we were in front of a window. My 13" 1st gen macbook is glossy but it is nowhere near as reflective as the glass on the new models.

I was planning on going with the high res display anyways, so its only a little bit more for the anti glare.
