Well this new MBP has shown a huge shift in peoples perception of the displays. Before the unibody, all the pea sized brained windows luser switchers were jumping in our mac forums crying out for glossy displays. Apple provided a mirror display and how everyone began defending it till they were blue in the face. Now with the Anti-glare (what we had in the first place) 90+% people around here an other forums now changed their minds an think this is so much better than the mirror displays SIGH...

this just proves how the glossy display can retard usability. Turned out to be just another cheapo PC luser wannabe gimmick after all eh? LOL

now wez wants our ExpressCard back, coz SD aint cool!!!

Sorry for the crappy pictures, im hardly a photographer. I could take better photos later on today when I have more time. (perhaps cleaning the dust off it too!)

These are of the screen facing a large window on a sunny morning, screen perfectly readable, unlike my 13" white macbook!
Looks great! How do you like the colors (intensity and such) and clarity compared to your older white MacBook?

I ordered my Moshi anti-glare screen protecter 2 days ago. Should be here soon, and I'll make sure to post before/after pics. I gotta tell you, I liked the idea of glossy, and I prefer the look of the black bezel over the silver- though it's certainly not a dealbreaker. Now that I've moved from casual internet/gaming into Logic Studio/Qlab engineering and theatrical applications, I'm using it for professional reasons (the reason I bought it in the first place)

My eyes are DEFINITELY getting more fatigued, and it's getting very distracting working in my office or practically anywhere. Can't wait for this Moshi thing. 40 bucks is about 25 too expensive, but what are you gonna do?

I just got back from the Apple store and picked myself up the following for work:
- 15" Macbook Pro 2.66 GHz (High-Res Anti-Glare Screen) (w/10% discount)
- Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adaptor
- Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adaptor
- Apple Remote

Installing latest updates then on to Photoshop CS4 and iWork 2009!

:D

Picture attached. The MacBook on the right is my wife's, that I am borrowing to post this message.

Just received my first MacBook Pro (first laptop) ever and didn't get a chance to take many pictures.

I must say I hated the silver bezel at first but I now love it! Way better than glossy screens...

Anti Glare

Why can't the anti glare screen be one piece, with a black border like the glossy?
For me the anti-glare is really nice for usability, but it trades of some design aesthetics.

Like the air screen ?

Hey guys,

so who's seen the macbook air screen and the anti-glare pro one ? I have to say it looks similar to my airs screen (which is pretty much the perfect compromise)

Thoughts ?

Are you saying the design with the silver bezel looks like the air? Or the screen itself?

Both the silver bezel and the matte screen look like the macbook pro design before the unibody design. Way closer to that than the air.

GRR I gotta have one! Cant believe Im having so much trouble selling my current MBP.

@ staywhatyouare is your name a saves the day reference? if so I dig it : )

hi, how did you get the discount? 10% off is great:D

My review of the screen:
I am a huge screen fanatic (whites, brightness, color reproduction, viewing angles)

And let me tell you, this is one of the best screens I have seen in a 15-16" computer. The vaio F series screen has the same resolution and lacks brightness + the whites are yellow. The vaio Z 2010 model has a decent screen but suffers from poor viewing angles and slight yellowness. This screen is amazingly bright, colors pop and is not grainy at all. Love it. The dell studio 16" with the RGB LED screen is supposed to be better, but the resolution is too high at 1920x1080, the text is completely readable on this HR AG screen!

hmm. i think i can count zero times during my week when i work on my computer from that angle. ;)

That reflection would be pretty much the same if you were staring directly at it. Im getting that reflection at work right now (we have huge glass windows behind us, almost the entire wall is glass ha)

looks awesome! should have got anti-glare on my 15'' :(

I ordered the 17" AG screen. Should be here in a week or so.

A glossy screen might be OK if you never go out and you have the room lighting setup for it. I travel and can't control the lighting. Often I used the MBP itself for presentations and there is no way to simultaneously get rid of reflections for several people.

Was all about the glossy and black til I went to the Apple store. Now, anti-glare w/ the silver bezel all the way. I thought the silver looked bad in pics. But in person the silver just looks right. 17" anti-glare for me in a few weeks....
