The recent jailbreak has started a flood of free app talk..and its really annoying.

Can we please add a sticky to the forum warning about a ban from this forum if this chatter continues?

the internet police wanna-bees always turn up sooner or later.

live and let live...mind your own business

Actually, minding our own business is all well and good but there is already a rule about this and it's clear that MacRumors doesn't condone piracy.

If you want to steal apps fine, just don't ****ing discuss it here.

Your contribution is overwhelming.

that's what moderators are for so unless you're
a moderator mind your own business and quit
worrying what other people are doing.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

Surely it would make more sense for it to be in the forum rules, no?
No need for a sticky.

Ironic statement of the day? Anyone?

It is...

Warez/Serials/Keys. Do not post software serial numbers or keys or refer people to specific websites, software, or techniques whose purpose is to break or bypass software licensing methods, distribute cracks, or obtain or use commercial software or media in violation of its license and/or for copyright violation. Do not ask for or give such help.

Nah, that's contradictive.

I'm all for letting the moderators do their job, but expressing one's dissapproval of software piracy shouldn't be a problem.

To put it succinctly, people who steal software suck.

And no, I am not a moderator.

And yes, it is my business for as long as I am a member of this online community, I have a stake in what happens here.

And when people attempt to use this forum for illegal activity, it makes me mad. ::mad:

I don't have to be a moderator to express my opinion on this matter, thank you very much.

You need to slow your roll there tiger. I didn't start the thread but whether it's my business or not should be none of your concern. You have no idea if I'm a developer or not and if I am then it most certainly is my business. It's clear to me that you don't get it. I'm guessing the reason you simply don't get it is because you're too cheap to pay for a well-designed app that was created by a developer who likely put a lot of time into the app.

As for me being a moderator, you must be new here. Really. You do seem to be overly concerned with the site in general and frankly this is really none of your business either, if you want to discuss piracy or engage in the act of then find another forum there are tons out there. Google is your friend.

Your contribution is also overwhelming.

When will the app store have trial versions of apps like cydia and rock do? And by trial I mean full functioning with a time limit.

Just report the offending posts. If mods want to do something they will. Otherwise complacency condones the behavior and thus carry on.

Uh never? Who knows. This is for Apple to decide. Whether Apple takes cues from Cydia and the jailbreak community we'll never know. They should. The functionality of my jailbroken phone far exceeds the functionality of the current iPhone OS.

^ The JB community will always have a cracked app discussion and that is the side of jailbreaking that gives some people a bad taste in their mouth. But jailbreaking does not necessarily mean someone is stealing apps.

Yeah I agree. I have £40 to spend on apps so I don't need to get cracked apps lol. I just can't wait until backgrounder and multiflow are working! I loved them for the iPhone!

Yes, pls let them take that discussion elsewhere - it's frustrating having do sift through xxx threads with cheapskates asking how and where.

Pls mods, enforce the board rules

Piracy is stealing, period. The casual attitude of those doing it is what kills me. I hate to see this forum turn trashy, just my 2 cents worth.

I agree. The type of people who pirate apps are the same type of people that the forum could do without. I feel immediate banning is in order. :)

First flogging, then permanent banning, that's how we roll here.........:p:rolleyes:

Dont forget the jailbreak community did invent the appstore.
