    Hi All,

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but I did do a search. I have a Macbook pro 17" (June 2009 model), and I do some gaming on it (mostly older games). The games I am currently playing are:

Diablo2, Warcraft 3 (plus expansion), and Neverwinter Nights (original).

Can the 9400m handle those games (more so NWN and Warcraft 3, with all the eye candy turned on and full resolution (aka 1920x1200). NWN seems to run ok so far like that, but I want to make sure I'm not taxing the card to much doing that.

Should I switch to the 9600 to play all my games? Or can the 9400 handle the above games good without worry.

    Thanks all for any help!

the 9400 will handle those for a joke, dont bother switching to the 9600 to play them.

ps. i play nwn and warcraft 3 on my macbook air with ease.

Excellent, thank you for the info :)

Iwas kind of worried I might of been taxing the system to hard running everything on full bore with that card :)

It's not like a car, don't worry about 'taxing' your computer.

Basically as long as you are happy with the performance of the 9400m, stick with it. Those games are all really old so I don't see you having really any issue, MAYBE at 19200x1200 though but I am not sure. Try out the 9600m and see if it runs any smoother, otherwise just stick with the 9400m.

If you're planning on running windows (bootcamp) on the 2009 mbp's i'd rethink the decision, as apple has only released faulty audio/microphone drivers for windows.

So is it all the new uMBP or just the 13" models. I was thinking about a new 15 MBP with the 2.8/4GB/500GB for myself but not if there are issues.

Did they ever fix the issue with the 3.0 GB thru put for the Sata II controller?

There was an update that addressed that issue.
