I'm experiencing slow load times and incomplete views of the forum.

Any one else experiencing this? I understand today will be crazy.

Good luck.

Cheers.

iOS 4 is getting released today, that should explain it plus iPhone 4 hype is also going on

Yup seeing this too and I have a feeling what Hellhammer said is the reason! I am only expecting it to get worse as the day progresses along. Just noticed there were 11K+ on the board as I was typing this!

Front page got sluggish under the load, but we should be good to go now after some adjustments. As noted, very heavy traffic today with iOS 4 excitement.

Is it really worth the excitement, just download it and get on with your day.

OK, who hit the brakes? This has been going on for the past hour, but this happens WAY too frequently these days, iPhone releases or not. (Naturally, I expect all will return to normal by the time I can get this to finally post!)

  • Forum Spy won't load at all.

  • Database Errors.

  • Threads take 3-10 minutes to load, if at all.

  • Attachments take 3-10 to attach, if at all.

  • And it's not just me:

Of course, all other sites load perfectly and resetting Safari doesn't help. What's going on?

Edit: Now I see it was completely down for maintenance, but it appears that attachments still don't work.

I wonder what all the little kids did for the past 10 minutes since they could not argue about the iPhone.

Apparently it was because of the iPhone 4 arriving early thread..but I'd like an admin/mod note on it.

Ya the iPhone arriving Early thread was linked from a lot of sites. Normally not a huge problem but had 5 images embedded in it. Out attachment server crapped out which lagged page loads. So for now only registered users can view attachments

Has there been a new record set yet ?

We didn't break the "simultaneous users online" record, which was set in 2008 when the iPhone Girl story went global and appeared on the front page of Yahoo, but we did break a number of daily records.

As an example, we had over 43,000 posts in the forums yesterday, obliterating the previous record set during WWDC 2009 by 36%.

That's a lot posts to moderate  Good job though, haven't had any issues and been online almost all the time when I've been awake  Keep it going!

Has anybody had to re-login several times the last few days?

Even though my internet connection hasn't been disabled (only every 24 hours) and my browser not restarted or reset, I had to login several times the past few days to make posts.

Just to add, I checked the REMEMBER ME checkbox, again and again.

So I had to re-login twice in less than half an hour as it seems.

Nope, hasn't happened to me. Try clearing browser files?
