Is the extra $100 bucks worth doubling the storage capacity? I'm on the fence on which one I should order.

I say yes it's worth it. Keep in mind that you're gonna have an HD video camera in your pocket now. HD video takes up a lot of storage space. If you think you'll be using the HD cam a lot, you will probably need the space for storage until you can unload it on your computer.

Seriously? How the hell should we know what you need?! How much music do you have? How many photos and movies do you want to put on it? What sort of apps? If you need 32Gb then buy the 32Gb.

I'm a big believer in streaming video and music. But one thing you can't get around is the video storage space. If you're going to be using it for recording video much then I think the larger one is warranted.

I personally don't have much music. Apps take up most of my space. I still have 8-9 gigs free... PLENTY of room for me. I had an 8GB 3G and only used half of that.

So 16 GB is fine for me... it just depends on the person!

I'd rather have too much storage than too little. I got the 32GB and after putting all my stuff in it, I've still got 19GB left over. It'll be a while before I have to start being careful with how big my files are.

i have read 83MB/min and from my tests, that is accurate

This seems about right to me as well. The 150MB / 5 minutes quoted above seems way off. I've taken 2 30 second movies and they were both right around 43-45MB.

I got the 16GB and I'm not even using up a GB yet. I don't use my iPhone to store music because I have an iPod for that. I haven't done any videos yet and have some pics stored on mine. I'm good for the next 2 years.

I've got an iPod so capacity for music isn't going to be that big of a deal. I know it is a hard and subjective question, but I was thinking more in lines of apps and video recording. I don't know how big a "typical" app might be.

Not only video files take up the extra space. That new 5MP camera means that picture files take up almost double the space they uswed to.

I had a 16GB 3G and it was almost constantly full of music and apps. With the iPhone 4 I went with the 32 GB for the extra space.

That really depends. Your normal apps are pretty small. If you get one of the GPS navigation apps, they're usually around 1.5 GB. If there's any question, go with the larger storage size. It's much MUCH better to have too much than not enough. You'll get it all back when you go to sell it.

Thanks for the responses people. Sounds like 32GB it is! Now, I just have to find one.....

Whoops, I worded that wrong. Just looked, and a .43 sec video is 54 mb. Looks like it does about 1.2mb per second.

Space and more Space!

I got the 32 gig and have 10gig left on it already!! I was hoping for a 64 gig model this year but didn't happen. You never know what the future holds as far as how much space you will need so I would say for only $100 get the 32 gig!! Better to be safe then sorry!!!
