9600gt!

    Is it any good? and why is it switchable rather than default?

    It is switchable to save power or run faster grafx- your choice!

    No, it isn't any good. I mean it's not completely incompetent, but if you need real GPU power, the Macbook Pro dosen't cut it-especially not for the price they're charging.

    The 9600GT is just another 8600 variant. It's the same thing it had last year...and it wasn't impressive last year when it launched, let alone now (I mean it was okay for notebooks 14 months ago, but not impressive even then).

    Unfortunately it's what I expected. :(

    The Macbook is really the system that saw a big upgrade...the MBP was just a minor bump, really. (Though it FINALLY has a user replaceable drive.
