9600m/9400m fast switching?

is there a utility like the one for the newest MBP's that I can use for my late 2008 MBP to switch on the fly without logout for the graphics cards?

As far as I know, no, there unfortunately isn't

Nope, the only way to switch it is to select the option in the energy preference panel and logout/log in.

Heck, at least we can change it in OSX, in windows and OSX, you're stuck with the 9600m

No automatic switching utility. But I made a script for gaming which automatically selects the faster graphics processor setting and logs you out and back in. See this thread: click here
